Title: 180° South: Conquerors of the Useless -Film
Post by: surf88 on September 02, 2010, 10:52:59 AM
Anybody else watch this yet?  Its available play it now on netfliix and I enjoyed it.  Not really a "climbing film" but just a neat film revolving around Yvon Chouinard. It has about as much of a plot as a stag film, but the patagonia scenery is worth the watch alone.

My wife watches Netflick while stretching and exercising.  Her report on this was much the same as Surf's -- short on plot, nothing new in terms of mountaineering or climbing, but great scenery.

Yes, I saw it on Netflix too.

Loved it, I thought it was nicely produced, and directed.

Very cool, soul filled movie.

It doesn't always have to be about the latest and greatest thing in mountaineering, its always nice to see the "same old" through the eyes of someone else.

I put this on my queue when you first mentioned it and finally watched it. I really enjoyed it. As you said the scenery was spectacular from start to finish. The sense of true adventure was amazing too. I am envious of people who can set off on an adventure with only the barest framework of a plan and go where the wind blows them.
